10 people charged after Bancroft drug raid

Fentanyl, cocaine and crystal meth were some of the drugs seized in a raid in the Town of Bancroft on Tuesday.

Police from several units executed a search warrant on Bridge Street East. Along with a number of illegal drugs, small gold and silver bars, hundreds of dollars in cash, and a variety of stolen property were recovered. As a result of the warrant, police say they have resolved two local break-and-enter investigations.

Of the 12 people arrested in the raid, 10 have been officially charged. Several residents of Bancroft, Maynooth, Oshawa, and Gorham have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Over 30 charges in total have been laid so far.

One of the accused has been held for a bail hearing. The rest have been released and will appear in the Court of Justice in Bancroft on October 25th.
