A piece of local heritage is celebrating a century of use.
The Wilberforce Red Cross Outpost Museum will be celebrating its 100-year anniversary on August 15th. The Canadian National Historic Site will be throwing a party on Monday, August 15th at their location at 2314 Loop Road in Wilberforce.
The Outpost was set up in 1922 and started out as a community hospital. It was the first outpost ran by the Red Cross in Ontario, and the first hospital in Haliburton County. It was declared a National Historic Site in 2003 and is run by the Wilberforce Heritage Guild since 1991.
The museum is open in July and August, Wednesday to Monday, from 11 AM until 4 PM.
