Bancroft will soon have a new space for recreation, health, fitness, and community connections.
The town announced plans for a new Community Wellness Centre and Fitness Centre on the upper level of the North Hastings Community Centre.
The project is made possible by a $500,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant.
The project also includes the addition of an elevator and the new space will provide a fully accessible change room, washroom and shower.
The project was unveiled by Mayor Paul Jenkins in a ceremony at the site on Tuesday.
It’s part of Bancroft’s long-term vision to promote and refurbish year-round recreational spaces.
