Rally of the Tall Pines to return in November, with spectators

An early-winter Bancroft tradition is expected to be back this year, and with spectators this time.

Organizers of the Rally of the Tall Pines car race say they’re working to get the event back up and running as normal on the weekend of Nov. 24 and 25.

The event is hosted out of the Dungannon Recreation Centre and it takes drivers through rural roads in the area.

The event took place without spectators in 2021 and didn’t happen at all in 2020, due to the pandemic.

Organizers say the return of the race is great news for the town, as it generates an economic impact of about a half million dollars.

They say the event sometimes draws upwards of 4,000 fans to watch. Most of them often gather at the Iron Bridge along Bronson Road.
