Book lovers, take note. There’s a new publishing group in Bancroft and it’s celebrating the launch of their first book on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
The group is called White Pine Writers Inc. and the book is called “The Art of Re-Purposing Yourself.” The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hastings Highlands Library in Maynooth.
The book is a collection of stories about how local people had to “re-purpose” their lives through the COVID-19 pandemic, says Steve Scally the man behind the new firm and one of the writers.
The two other writers are Kathryn Wishlow and former Hastings Highlands Mayor Vic Bodnar.
The book is being sold at Ashlie’s Books in downtown Bancroft. Scally hopes it’s the first of many the group will publish.
