Some Hastings Highlands firefighters are moving up the ladder, so to speak.
The municipality announced that Bryce Robinson has been promoted to Interim Fire Chief. And Mike Bendell is moving up to Interim Deputy Fire Chief.
A statement from the town says former Fire Chief Glen Ackerman is no longer with the municipality, but it didn’t express why.
Both Robinson and Bendell are veterans firefighters. Robinson has been with the department for more than 30 years. He’ll now be in charge of administration and co-ordination of all fire activities.
Bendell has been with the service for just three years, but also has 30 years of leadership experience in the public sector. He’ll assist Robinson with overall operations.
