“Back the Cat” campaign will fund CT scanner for North Hastings Hospital

Get ready to “Back the Cat.”

That will be the name of a new campaign to fundraise for a CT scanner for North Hastings Hospital.

The campaign to raise $2 million is expected to formally launch in early 2023 and be run by the North Hastings Fund Development Committee.

Chair Kim Bishop says that every year thousands of area residents travel south to get “cat scans” to detect blood clots, brain hemorrhages or other health issues. So it’s about time that a CT scanner be in place here.

The campaign will lead to special events and calls for donations to everyday individuals, and big philanthropists.

Bishop says she’s confident the community will embrace the campaign.

“People know how critical it is to have a well-equipped hospital. We get generous donations every year. And this is one more extremely exciting piece of equipment we can add. And the community will have a part in bringing this to town.”

Watch for details on the campaign at the North Hastings Fund Development Committee’s new website.
