Demand is rising for the Bancroft & Area Kids in Need program, as it heads into its annual holiday toy drive.

Volunteers with the program project they’ll serve about 500 clients this year, up about 100 from previous years.

The program is hoping for more donations of toys this year, as well as financial donations, which can purchase toys and support its annual snowsuit program, too.

Several businesses are now collecting donations of toys. They include Century 21, Scotiabank and Pizzamore.

Parents who want to access the program can do so this week. They can go to Bancroft Bible Chapel between noon and 6 p.m. on Thursday, or 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday or 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The chapel plans on hosting a “Toy Store” event for registered parents later, so they can pick out gifts for their little ones.
