Excitement is revving up for one of Bancroft’s biggest annual sporting events, happening this weekend.
The car racing event known as Rally of Tall Pines is set for Saturday, and spectators are being welcomed back after two COVID-impacted years.
Activities for fans take place from the early morning hours to nearly midnight. At 8:15 a.m. fans are encouraged to come down to the Dungannon Recreation Centre, where they can check out the cars and get autographs and photos with racers.
Events continue right up until 11:15 p.m. when the victory podium event is held, also at the Dungannon Recreation Centre. There, fans can celebrate the winners and are encouraged to watch for champagne spray.
The event has racers travel one car at a time through a route that covers many Bancroft rural roads.
There are designated spectator areas at the Iron Bridge along Bronson Road, the Detlor Crossing, Tait Farm and Lower Turriff Triangle areas.
