A cheesy fundraiser is happening in Bancroft on Thursday.
The United Way of Hastings & Prince Edward will be at Millennium Park between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. selling Maple Dale cheese products. For each purchase, Maple Dale will donate $10 to the United Way.
The agency is in the midst of a campaign to raise $2 million. The success of that campaign impacts this area greatly, as there are several Bancroft-area agencies that rely on United Way funding, says executive director Brandi Hodge. That includes Bancroft Community Trust and Community Care North Hastings.
The United Way campaign is really important to the social fabric of the North Hastings community. We’re investing well over a quarter of a million dollars into that community. So it’s really important for us to be present and available to folks so they can support the campaign.”
The campaign runs until the end of January and you can learn of other ways to support the United Way though its website.
