New Hastings & Prince Edward Public Health data shows that cases of the flu remain high.
A report for the week of Nov. 27 to Dec. 3 shows that the number of lab-confirmed cases of “Influenza A” rose by 32. It also shows that flu cases in the region this fall have been well above historical averages.
However, COVID cases are in steady decline.
The health unit’s dashboard, which is updated every Tuesday, now shows there are are six people in Quinte Health Care hospitals with COVID and none are in intensive care.
The number of hospitalized people was in the 40s during the peak period of late September and early October.
Doctors are still encouraging vaccinations and a COVID-vaccine clinic is being held in Bancroft on Dec. 8 and 15 at the Bancroft Hospital Professional building. People are asked to call in and book an appointment in advance
