The people behind productions at the Bancroft Village Playhouse can take a bow.
Shows and staff from the theatre are up for several Broadway World Regional Awards. This awards program covers regions across the world where Broadway-like shows are put on. The Village Playhouse is considered as part of the Ottawa region.
The Playhouse is up against three other community theatres for the title of Best Local Theatre.
Also, its production of Mamma Mia last summer has been nominated for Best Musical.
Jackie Mustakas and Hadley Mustakas have been nominated for Best Performer in a Musical for their roles in the show.
The show’s choreographer, director and scenic designer are also up for individual awards.
Theatre fans could vote for the winners in December, but the polls are closed now and the winners are expected to be announced later this month.
