An online fundraising effort is underway for an injured Niagara Regional Police officer who has ties to the Bancroft area. 40 year old constable Phil Sheldon suffered severe burns after an explosion and fire in Vineland Sunday night. His wife, Tanya McFadden is from Bancroft. Two people at the home died in the explosion and another officer suffered minor injuries. It’s reported that Sheldon will require months of treatment including surgeries and skin grafts during his recovery.
