Bank account set up for family with local ties

A bank account has been set up in Bancroft for the family of a police officer that was wounded in an explosion last weekend.

40-year old Phil Sheldon is a police officer with the Niagara Regional Police and he was injured on the job Sunday night.  An explosion and fire caused severe burns which will require treatment, surgeries and skin grafts.  Two people died in the explosion and one other officer got minor injuries.

A savings account has been set up at Scotiabank in Bancroft for Sheldon and his wife Tanya McFadden.  It has been set up by McFadden’s mother, Bernice Aide.  The public can make donations to help the family with their medical expenses.
