North Hastings Auxiliary to benefit from 100 Women funding

Some remarkable Bancroft women have shown how much they care about their community again.

A strong turnout at Tuesday night’s 100 Women Who Care Bancroft Region group will lead to a big donation for North Hastings and District Hospital Auxiliary.

Members of the group voted to support that organization when they met at the Village Playhouse.  As each voting member is expected to donate $100 to the charity of choice, the group expects to raise more than $5,000 for the Auxiliary.

The Auxiliary intends to put the money towards the Back the Cat campaign, to purchase a CT scanner for the hospital.

Food for Learning and North Hastings Children’s Services also made appeals for donations at the meeting.

And the event featured a presentation of a cheque for $3,900 for Care North Hastings, which won the vote for support when the group met in the fall. The organization supports seniors.

The next 100 Women meeting is set for May 17th at the Playhouse again. More information is on the group’s Facebook page.
