The United Way of Hastings & Prince Edward has not only reached – but surpassed – its fundraising goal.
Officials behind the 2022 campaign announced that a total of $2,104,711 was raised. That’s over the goal of $2 million, which was set back in September.
The number was unveiled at an achievement breakfast event in Belleville on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 7.
The United Way fundraises on behalf of several social agencies. That includes many Bancroft-area organizations, such as North Hastings Children’s Services, North Hastings Community Trust, North Hastings Community Cupboard and North Hastings Community Transit.
Executive Director Brandi Hodge thanked supporters and said donations are making a “real difference in communities” by helping people that “need it most.”
