The North Hastings Public Library is about to enter a new chapter of its life – and not just because it has a new building on the way.
CEO Kim McMunn on Tuesday updated Bancroft council on plans for the library, which she says is more than a place that lends books.
McMunn says in the coming years the library will put greater emphasis on providing digital resources, Indigenous inclusion initiatives and supporting local businesses.
Her presentation was to ask council to support that change and help the community be “literally and technologically competitive”.
The library will eventually move from its current Flint Avenue location to the new North Hastings Inspiration Place building, which will be constructed soon off Cleak Avenue.
