Community Cupboard welcomes Random Acts of Kindness donations

If you haven’t done something nice to mark Random Acts of Kindness Day yet, how about donating to North Hastings Community Cupboard?

Staff at the food bank put that idea out ahead of Friday, February 17 – a day on the calendar that’s celebrated by an American non-profit which encourages kind gestures.

Food bank officials say they have a low supply of healthy kids’ school snacks and peanut butter. It can also use more canned pasta sauce.

The Cupboard has bins at No Frills, Foodland and IDA in Bancroft. Donations can also be made in person to its building at 2 Madawaska St.

Staff say that the Cupboard often gets plenty of donations before Christmas, but there’s a need for donations year round, especially in late winter when fewer food drives occur.
