The non-profit organization that runs Bancroft’s Village Playhouse can take a bow.
Tweed & Company was honoured for having one of the Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario.
The award recognizes the theatre company’s 2022 season, which brought more than 12,000 spectators to various shows in both Bancroft and Tweed.
It was handed out at the Festival and Events Ontario gala in Niagara Falls last week. It marks the second time that Tweed and Company has been on the top-100 list, as it also received the honour in 2018.
Artistic Director Tim Porter called it an honour. The company has a seven-person admin team. It owns Tweed’s Marble Arts Centre and in 2022 it took over managing duties at the Village Playhouse.
