Bancroft Ridge subdivision expansion approved

The extension of a new subdivision planned in Bancroft got a green light this week.

Council approved a zoning amendment that paves the way for two-storey homes to be built in a new neighbourhood, west of the York River.

The 105-lot neighbourhood is an extension of Bancroft Ridge. It’s being built by Alliance Homes, in an area off Nicklaus Drive, near Bancroft Ridge Golf Course.

The subdivision was the subject of a public meeting held during council proceedings on Tuesday, March 14. An environmental firm hired to examine the land use plans gave approval. It said that plans have been prepared to address soil and water-related issues that may arise.  Also, town staff said no public objections to the plans were submitted.

Alliance Homes is promoting Bancroft Ridge as an “exclusive enclave of homes” near a waterfront trail.
