A Hastings Highlands firefighter has been moved to the top of the ladder, so to speak.
Bryce Robinson has been appointed as Fire Chief of the municipality.
Robinson has been the interim chief since October. He has served with the Hastings Highlands Fire Department for 30 years.
Mayor Tony Fitzgerald said the municipality is confident that Robinson’s years of experience will serve him well in the new role, as he’s seen the department evolve over the years.
As Fire Chief, Robinson will direct departmental operations on equipment,
apparatus, inspections and personnel. This will include the oversight and maintenance
of fire-related equipment and the emergency vehicle fleet.
Meanwhile, Mike Bendell will continue as the interim Deputy Fire Chief. He has been with Hastings Highlands for three years, but he also has more than 30 years of experience working in leadership roles in the public sector.
