Loyalist College receiving $150,000 from Hastings County for ECE scholarships

Now’s a great time to pursue a career as an early childhood educator.

Loyalist College has announced it’s receiving a $150,000 investment from Hastings County. It’s to invest in current and future students in the school’s ECE program.

Over the next two years, the college will distribute scholarships of up to $3,000 in financial support for 50 qualifying students who are pursuing childcare careers in Hastings County.

The college says a national shortage of childcare workers is being felt here, as many Hastings County childcare providers have significant waitlists and a pressing need for more qualified staff.

“We are excited to partner with Loyalist College to recruit ECEs in Hastings County,” said Hastings County Warden Bob Mullin. “It is vital that we retain, recruit and value educators as they enrich the lives of children and prepare them for success in the future.”
