Dual splash pad at Riverside Park an entry for Kraft Project Play

A local councillor is encouraging the community to get behind an application for a dual splash pad at Riverside Park.

Tracy McGibbon has submitted the proposed project to Kraft Project Play, which funds initiatives that help communities become more physically active.

She says projects must fall into one of four categories: basketball, play, soccer, tennis.

A dual purpose means the splash pad would also function as a skating rink in the winter.  The grand prize is $250,000 and the rest of the top four projects get $25,000.  The top four announcement will be made on July 26 and online voting will be Aug. 17 and 18.  The winner will be announced Aug. 21.  For a link to the application, click here.
