A big donation is coming for animal welfare organization, Home Again Bancroft.
The volunteer-run non-profit, which relies largely on fundraising, won the vote at a 100 Women Who Care Bancroft Region meeting Wednesday night.
The 100 Women group has a history of making big donations. At the end of meetings, members vote on a community group to support and the winning group then gets a $100 cheque from each member.
Home Again President Christine Walker made an appeal for support, particularly for costs to help families with end-of-life care for pets.
She says the donation from the group is expected to be about $5,000.
“We’re grateful to be in such a generous community,” she says.
Representatives from the North Hastings Public Library and the Algonquin Arts Council also made presentations at the meeting, held at The Village Playhouse.
