Round Up campaign will ask No Frill shoppers to ‘Back the Cat’

If you’re shopping at the Bancroft No Frills this month, a cashier may ask if you want to “round up.”

By that, they mean make a donation to the North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary.

The Round UP campaign runs until July 30 and encourages shoppers to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar, with the extra change going the Auxiliary.

This year, the Auxiliary is putting money towards “Back the Cat”, a campaign to bring a CT Scanner to North Hastings Hospital.

Barbecues will also be taking place at the grocery store each Friday, Saturday and Sunday in July to raise funds for the scanner.

It’s the 20th edition of the annual late July campaign. Last year Round Up raised just over $12,000. Over the years, it has brought in more than $150,000 for health care.
