Groups that are planning projects to benefit seniors can soon apply for federal funding.
The office of Hastings-Lennox & Addington MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman has announced details on the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
It can award funding of up to $25,000.
An open call for proposals starts Aug. 1 and runs until Sept. 14.

To be eligible, a project must address one or more of the program’s five objectives.
They are promoting volunteerism, engaging seniors in the community through mentoring, expanding awareness of elder abuse, supporting social participation and providing capital assistance for new or existing seniors community projects.
