To Roy Mitchell, the word “queer” is synonymous with “love.”
And in this spirit, he’s hosting an event Thursday called “What’s Love Got To Do With It: Queers Talk About Love.”
It’s at the Hastings Highlands Public Library at 6 p.m.
The event invites people to share media, music or text that may resonate with those in the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
“There’s a lot of love and joy in our community and in our lives,” says Mitchell. “I think it’s really important to think about those things, support those things and talk about those things.”
Mitchell says the event is a public feature of an unofficial Pride weekend in the area, as several private events are being held this weekend for those in the local 2SLGBTQI+ community.
