Four honoured for making CT scanner’s arrival possible

Four people have been honoured  for making the arrival of North Hasting Hospital’s new CT scanner possible.

Hospital manager Tammy Davis, head fundraiser Kim Bishop and physicians Parambir Keila and Peter McEnery were recognized at a Quinte Health board meeting held in Bancroft Tuesday.

They received the Values in Action award, and it came one day after the scanner arrived for set up, following a months-long fundraising campaign.

Bishop is Chair of the Back the Cat campaign, which is in the homestretch of a drive to raise about $2.8 million.

Dr. Keila is an active physician who has lobbied for the scanner’s arrival to better treat patients.

McEnery is a retired physician, who identified a need for a CT scanner in Bancroft several decades ago.

The board credited McEnery for being a “visionary” ahead of his time.
