Bancroft has issued a building permit for construction to start in the parking lot next to the IDA, a downtown piece of land that’s sat dormant for several years.
What’s going there isn’t publicly known. Town General Manager Andra Kauffeldt says the permit has been granted to the owner of the IDA but she’s not at liberty to reveal the plans.

The building permit was issued on Dec. 1, and at about the same time, green fences went up around the parking lot, blocking off entry.
