Health unit investigating infection connected to shrimp

Two local health units are investigating an infection connected to handling shrimp.

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health and the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit say it’s a small case of food poisoning around Campbellford where people contracted a rare infection from raw fresh shrimp.

Symptoms include sore nodules on the fingers.  Those with similar symptoms can call public health at: 613-966-5500.
