United By Music event raises more than money

Last Friday’s United By Music event raised over 3000 dollars for local charities.

This United Way fundraiser took place at Bancroft’s village playhouse and featured popular hometown musicians as well as speakers from local organizations that are funded by United Way.

Organizer and campaign cabinet minister Stephen Petrick spoke about why this event was about more than raising money.

“I think there was an element of not preaching to the converted” Petrick said, “We had people in the theatre who may not have known a lot about the United Way, heading into the night. In terms of raising awareness, it was just fantastic”
