Many area parents were not expecting it to be a “snow day” on Friday.
Moose FM spoke with Triboard CEO Jeremy D’Acosta who said they were also not expecting it and explained how it came about:
“We were not expecting inclement weather day today” He said, “However, very early this morning at about 4:00 AM our bus operators in North Hastings, and our snow captain, contacted us to advise us that they were facing very challenging road conditions”
D’Acosta said operators in the Bancroft area sent him photos and video of roads that had become glare ice due to rain on top of snow.
D’Acosta also noted that the functionality of their email alert system doesn’t allow Tri_Board to give reasons for cancellations and in order to be best informed people should always go to the TriBoard social media pages.
