The results are in from Tuesdays Basketball tournament. York river hosted the skills competition for area schools, including Maynooth public school, Our Lady of Mercy and Birds Creek.
Top spot went to: York River team 1
In second was Maynooth
And third went to OLM team 1
Excellent showings also came from Birds Creek, as well as OLM and York Rivers Team 2’s.
We spoke with York river coaches Hannah Kerby and Ben Gaebel about the event:
“They’re having fun and its cool because there’s a lot of different skills” Said Gaebel, “They might not be good at one thing but might be good at another thing” He continued, “All of them are finding their place, we just saw kids shooting and getting excited and really happy”
Some of the skills in the competition included—Foul shots, set shot, lay ups and events for passing and dribbling skills.
