A February 26th media release posted by the town states that it is their wish that the arena stays open.
The release goes on to address some of the questions and complexities of operating the arena.
Topics included are the arenas history of being run by a Commision (made up of surrounding municipalities) the financial support being asked for by the town, as well as maintenance and repair costs they became aware of as the arena transitioned out of the commission model.

In a separate correspondence with My Bancroft Now, Mayor Paul Jenkins also added,
“The arena is also an important element in attracting new residents and development to the entire region and needs equitable financial support from the entire region”
