The Kawartha Haliburton Trappers association is holding their annual Trappers Carnival this Saturday in Apsley at the North Kawartha Community Center and admission is free.
The event, started in 1976, features demonstrations and competitions, including trap setting and pelt preparation. As well as a contest to guess the weight of a beaver or muskrat.
There will be onsite food vendors and it will run from 9 am to 4 pm, it’s held in conjunction with the Apsley Minor Hockey Tournament which runs through the day as well.
