According to Corrections Canada, Basil Borutski has died in prison of natural causes.
The Corrections Canada press release states that in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances.
The 66-year-old had been serving an indeterminate sentence in Millhaven maximum security prison, after being convicted of murdering three Ottawa Valley women in one day.
The devastating events took place on September 22, 2015.
This was a tragedy that deeply impacted those in Renfrew county.
