On April 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 members of the East Region Highway Safety Division and the Ministry of Transportation conducted checks on commercial motor vehicles in Napanee.
They were assisted by members from the Lennox & Addington County and Frontenac OPP Detachments.
-A total of 24 vehicles were inspected.
-Nine of those vehicles were taken out of service for defects.
-Five vehicles had the licence plates removed for serious safety defects.
A total of 31 charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act.
