Killaloe OPP investigating recent collision of car and cyclist

On April 10, 2024, just after 6:30 p.m., Killaloe Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to a collision involving a passenger car and a bicycle at the intersection on Bonnechere Street and Bruce Street in the Township of Bonnechere Valley. 

A 61-year-old driver from Eganville going westbound on Bonnechere Street, collided at the intersection with the bicycle rider that was travelling on Bruce Street.   

A 14-year-old cyclist from Eganville was transported to hospital by paramedics with non life threatening injuries.

No charges were laid against the driver of the passenger car. 

Police remind the community that a bicycle rider under the age of 18 must wear an approved bicycle helmet. For children aged 16 and under a parent or guardian must make sure they wear a helmet.
