Bonnechere Park opens for camping and takes part in Provincial clean-up day

Bonnechere Provincial Park will be open for overnight camping and day use Friday.

According to the Parks social media, on May 14, they will also be taking part in a provincial day dedicated to “planting trees, cleaning up litter, and spreading awareness about the impact of waste”

The event aligns with ‘Act on Litter’ day in Ontario, a yearly event recognized on the second Tuesday in May. According to Ontario.ca, the day aims to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills by bringing awareness to the impacts of waste on the environment and encouraging people to take action at home and in their community.

Participants at the Bonnechere Park clean-up can meet at the Davenport Centre at 10 a.m. to discuss the plan for the event and distribute supplies.
