The Town of Bancroft has named the candidates for the position left vacant by councillor Barry McGibbon.
Candidates include Darlene Colton, Kevin Lawrence, Dale Anderson, Tyler Lucas, Aileen Mountney and James Forde.
Due to factors such as the cost of holding a by-election, council voted in April to fill the council seat by appointment.
In a public notice dated April 17, the Town of Bancroft said that certified registered candidates will be afforded the opportunity to address council for a period of not more than ten minutes. Candidates will be asked questions of council in an open public special council meeting, with the date of the meeting yet to be determined.
