Wings, wheels and more at 36th Fly-In Breakfast

Bancroft Flying Club are gearing up for their 36th annual fly-in pancake breakfast.

Sunday’s event will feature a full day of activities, starting with pancakes at 8 a.m.

According to airport manager Charles Burkholder, dozens of planes fly-in for the breakfast, with an even bigger turnout from the community:

“It’s very well supported, which we’re very grateful for. There was about 450 meals served last year and probably three quarters of that was people from the community coming out.”

Classic cars will be on display, local sightseeing flights will take off, live music will be provided by Sterling Stead, a BBQ lunch will be available and much more including a new addition to the day:

“We’re basically having a Fly -In Farmers Market” said Burkholder, “So you can eat, listen to music, watch airplanes, walk to the farmers market, buy something if you wish and just hang out as long as you want.”

Charles said there will be airplane rides offered through a third-party company (for a fee) and possibly helicopter rides. The day wraps up at 4 p.m.

The rain date for the event is July 14.
