Two arrests have been made after OPP discovered a counterfeit cash operation in Madoc.
Just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on Crookston Road.
An investigation discovered one person in the vehicle had an outstanding arrest warrant and they were arrested.
A search of the vehicle found counterfeit cash as well as the equipment and materials used to make it.
This resulted in the other person in the vehicle also being arrested.
On Wednesday, OPP seized more counterfeit cash and additional materials and equipment at a residence on Cooper Road in Madoc.
The value of the completed and partially completed counterfeit cash is “into the thousands of dollars” according to OPP.
As a result of the investigation one man and one woman from Madoc have been charged with making and possessing counterfeit money.
Both of the accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
