Kawartha Lakes OPP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing person who disappeared a year ago.
On Jan. 7, 2024, Michael James Walker was reported missing by family members who had not seen or heard from him since Nov. 6, 2023. His last known location was in the area of Norland and Minden.
The OPP has continued searching for Walker, conducting multiple search efforts. They say there are concerns for his safety and well-being, as it is unusual for him to go so long without contacting his family.
Walker was 57 years old at the time of his disappearance and is described as a white male, approximately 6’3″ and 325 lbs, with short dark brown hair and blue eyes.
OPP say that when last seen he had an ‘overall unkept appearance’, a scar on his right cheek, and may have been wearing a dark blue hoodie and track pants.
“Bring Them Home,” a non-profit organization that assists the families of people who have gone missing, has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to Walker’s whereabouts.
The investigation is ongoing by the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit.
Anyone with any information in relation to this investigation or the whereabouts of Walker is asked to contact the OPP.
The reference number for this case is E240026874.
