Starbucks Bancroft set to open in the new year
Starbucks is coming to Bancroft.
The coffee chain will be opening up as part of the Bancroft IDA, inside their newly built addition.
According to IDA owner Mena Yohanna, Starbucks is tentatively set to open January 20th. Yohanna says the date is not definite as it could get delayed ‘by a week or two’ depending on construction and permits.
Yohanna says Starbucks Bancroft currently has a manager and is working on hiring staff.
The Bancroft Starbucks will feature an inside seating area and a drive-thru. According to Yohanna having a drive-thru was deemed important to having the location be successful.
While the Starbucks coffee shop should be opening soon, Yohanna says it will be several months before the retail space addition is complete and open for business.
“We’re opening up 18,000 feet of retail space. We will try to fill up the gap for the community, we’ll try to bring in to Bancroft what is missing so people can do their shopping in town and they don’t have to travel to the city. We’re hoping for this to be a landmark that will bring in tourists and jobs”
Yohanna says the new IDA space will offer a variety of goods including things like fashion and cosmetics.
He hopes the expanded store will be open in time for the summer season.
