Bob Mullin re-elected as Warden of Hastings County

Bob Mullin has begun his second term as the Warden of Hastings County.

Mullin is the Mayor of Stirling-Rawdon Township and was officially sworn in as Warden on Dec. 5.

He will hold office for the next two years.

In his inaugural remarks, Mullin expressed appreciation for the County council members confidence in him, saying that together council has ‘moved the County forward’ on some key issues.

He spoke about the importance of long-term care and affordable housing saying that the county would continue to work with community partners.

“(We will) continue to address issues related to homelessness and addictions. We’re focusing on the services needed for our senior populations and our long-term care homes…  We see our homes for our residents as just that, homes.”

Mullin touched on the county’s goals in environmental stewardship and technology, saying the county would not ‘shy away from’ technological advancements such as AI.

He also spoke about the importance of land-use planning and growth.

“We will work with our member municipalities to explore creative solutions to encourage new investments in available and under-utilized areas. And we will do our part in making Hastings County a desirable place to invest their future in.”

Warden Mullin began his first term as Mayor of Stirling Rawdon in 2018 and was reelected as Mayor in October.

He has served as Warden of Hastings County since 2022.
