Santa meets with Mayor, MPP ahead of Brighten the Night, ‘Best in Parade’ goes to Dillabough’s

The streets of Maynooth were full and festive on Saturday for the Holiday Market and Brighten the Night Parade.

Just ahead of the parade, Hastings Highlands Mayor Tony FitzgeraldĀ and MPP Ric Bresee gathered with Santa Claus in front of the library for the official tree lighting ceremony.

Ric Bresee told MooseFMĀ it’sĀ been a busy season.

ā€œI’veĀ attended 11 different parades asĀ of today and it’sĀ just so wonderful to see the communities come out all across the riding.ā€

Mayor Fitzgerald added his thanks to Bresee for making the trip.

“IĀ do want to thank Ric for making the drive up here. Santa Claus, of course, came even further, but to have them both here with us in MaynoothĀ is wonderfulĀ for the parade. WishĀ everyone the best of the season.ā€

ā€œAnd Merry Christmas to all,” added Santa.
