Building connections at Bancroft’s weekly community dinner

The community is really coming together, and it just keeps growing.

That’s according to Kevin Taylor, one of the organizers behind Bancroft’s weekly community dinner, Friends for Dinner.

The gathering that sees community members from all walks of life gather in pop-up red tents in downtown Bancroft to share a meal, just enjoyed its 13th week.

According to Taylor, the dinner group was recently gifted a fifth propane furnace and there are now nine heated tents.

“It’s quite cozy, even in the snow,” says Taylor.

On Sunday, there will be a Christmas Dinner, with four turkeys, a ham and “all the fixings.”

Friends for Dinner takes place every Sunday in Bancroft by Cenotaph Park. from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.,

Just look for the red tents.
