The OPP East Region is warning snowmobilers to drive safely and pay attention to their surroundings. With the March Break, the trails will be busy and the OPP is asking that operators to pay attention and drive safely on the trails and to check ice conditions before heading out on the rivers and lakes. Warmer temperatures can make ice dangerous. So far this season four people have died in Motorised Snow Vehicle (MSV) collisions. Of those four fatal crashes, three have been related to alcohol. This does not include the many crashes where people have been seriously injured.
