First time home buyers in the area may be able to get some help with down payments.
Through Hastings County’s Downpayment Assistance Program, those who have a combined household income of $90,000 or less may be eligible to receive 10% of the purchase price of their home, up to a maximum of $30,000.
The home must cost no more than $428, 467 and it must be in Hastings County.
Should all conditions be met this would be a ‘forgivable loan’ from the County.
The applicant must be eligible for a pre-approved mortgage appropriate to the value of the home to be purchased.
