Extreme Cold Warning issued for our area, ‘check in on each other’

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for all areas of Renfrew County.
Extreme cold conditions are expected tonight into Monday morning with windchill values close to minus 35.
Extreme cold conditions may persist through Wednesday for some areas.
Additional information from Environment Canada:
“An arctic airmass will bring bitterly cold wind chills to the area through early this week. Depending on cloud cover which may serve to moderate temperatures slightly, extreme cold conditions may persist through Wednesday for some areas. Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.
Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.
Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant. Cover up.
Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
Check on older family, friends and neighbours. If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside.”
